About The Speed Mayor

The Speed Mayor LLC is an organization founded by Les Kiser in 2023 that uses his broadcasting experience, motorsports knowledge and love of live music to raise funds for charities. He organizes events and performs contracted on-air duties with sizable portions of that revenue being credited to the hiring organization if they donate to one of his chosen charity campaigns.

Les has been awarded the United Nations SDG Humanitarian Award for his charitable work.

Meet Les Kiser

Les is a native Texan and since childhood, motorsports and competitive sports have been a consistent part of his life. He first enjoyed the excitement of motorcycles, as he sat on the tank of his father’s motorcycles. He learned how to operate the handlebar controls, while his dad operated the gear shifting and brakes. At the age of 5, he mounted his own pull-start mini-bike and that really sparked interest in riding motorcycles. Since that time, Les has ridden seemingly every brand imaginable.

As time went on, he also became enamored with automobiles. His older siblings had German, British, Japanese cars and certainly a few American muscle cars from the 50′s 60′s and early 70′s. Each re-enforced the notion that cars were more than transportation. At a very early age, in a small south Texas town, Les saw a very different car pass by. He hopped on his bicycle and chased it until it parked, at which time the owner gladly showed it to the inquisitive kid. That car was a Porsche.

It is the love of motorsports and the development of the Circuit of the Americas that created the opportunity to cofound Speed City Broadcasting (2012- 2023) to provide the American voices for racing at the Circuit Of The Americas and Formula 1 on SiriusXM.

Before Speed City he was already deeply involved in the sports-car and enthusiast community and had competed during the late 1980s and early 1990s, including driver experience. He became heavily involved in relationships with enthusiasts, businesses, community leaders, charities and the Austin motorsports community.

Jonathan Green frequently called Kiser “The Mayor,” referring to his reputation for seemingly knowing everyone and being able to connect people across those communities. Kiser himself has publicly explained that Green gave him the nickname because of precisely that ability to connect people.

Kiser departed Speed City in early 2023 and redirected his attention back towards charitable activities and community engagement.

The Speed Mayor Organization: Post-Speed City activities have concentrated on business consulting, automotive and motorsport community engagement, event hosting and particularly charitable fundraising. Circuit of The Americas previously highlighted his involvement with a Make-A-Wish experience, while Driven to Care currently identifies Les “The Mayor” Kiser among its community and business partners.
